From before Roman times , people have been attracted to Bath by the natural hot springs.

Since the eighteenth century Bath has remained a firm favourite for tourists and shoppers.

You can see how  shopping styles have changed between the 1930s and the 1960s in the views  of Southgate and Stall Street.
